PowerPoint File Extension 04/25/2010
Since the rehab on my computer,(which has been running great), I have noticed something that I never ran across before. When I get an occasional e-mail from a friend, I'm directed to either find or save the file of a video they are trying to send me. However, if I hit find, it directs me to a page of Microsoft and they are offering a download of Power Point for over $100. Now, I know the other people don't have this program which would cost them that kind of money. This is not that important, but it's jut I never came across this problem before in downloading a video or some pictures. Any ideas? Hope all is well with you. Thanks Answer - From Ask The IT Guy: I came across this issue just the other day. Lucky Microsoft has a tool that allows you to view PowerPoint files if you don't have the Microsoft Office License. I have two solutions (1) download the plug-in made available on Microsoft's Website, or use an alternative program to PowerPoint (Microsoft Office) that is fully compatible to Microsoft's PowerPoint and save your money. Here are the links: Plug-in: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=048DC840-14E1-467D-8DCA-19D2A8FD7485&displaylang=en Alternative to PowerPoint: http://www.asktheitguy.com/openoffice-impress.html CommentsMartin 04/25/2010 09:42
The Plug in worked like a charm. Thank you very much. Take Care. Marty
