<![CDATA[ - Q & A]]>Mon, 06 Feb 2012 18:48:29 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[PowerPoint File Extension]]>Sun, 25 Apr 2010 09:35:10 -0800http://www.asktheitguy.com/5/post/2010/04/powerpoint-file-extension1.htmlSince the rehab on my computer,(which has been running great), I have noticed something that I never ran across before.  When I get an occasional e-mail from a friend, I'm directed to either find or save the file of a video they are trying to send me.  However, if I hit find, it directs me to a page of Microsoft and they are offering a download of Power Point for over $100.  Now, I know the other people don't have this program which would cost them that kind of money.  This is not that important, but it's jut I never came across this problem before in downloading a video or some pictures.  Any ideas?  Hope all is well with you.  Thanks

I came across this issue just the other day.  Lucky Microsoft has a tool that allows you to view PowerPoint files if you don't have the Microsoft Office License.  I have two solutions (1) download the plug-in made available on Microsoft's Website, or use an alternative program to PowerPoint (Microsoft Office) that is fully compatible to Microsoft's PowerPoint and save your money.

  1. Use your mouse pointer and right-click on an empty spot on the Windows Vista Desktop and choose Personalize.
2.  On the Tasks pane, select Change desktop icons.
3.  Click on the Recycle Bin checkbox.  Your recycle bin will reappear on your desktop.
